Meet PCM's new college graduate

Joana Villa graduated from college with the degree of BS Business Administration from the College of Mary Immaculate in Pandi. She was 10 years old when she was admitted in PCM.  Praise God for His steadfast love and faithfulness to PCM kids! Her testimony is as follows:

At 6 my mother decided to send me to my Lola because my two older brothers are also living in the care of her. Raising 3 grandchildren at a time wasn’t easy for her because she’s not working and earning money to feed us. Our living depended on how much money our uncles can give us because our mother wasn’t even sending her money regularly. I still remember how often our Lola would go to a close friend or acquaintance just to borrow money so that we can eat. It was really hard. Then my eldest brother was sent here in PCM at the age of 10, I guess. Every time my Lola would go home after visiting my Kuya Noel she would always say that it was good here because everything is provided and we don’t have to worry about studying because PCM is willing to help. Then she asked me if I wanted to come here also and I said yes without hesitation.

Then at the age of 10 I came here in PCM. Studying and pursuing your dream apart from your family is hard. Its not always rainbows and butterflies. There will come a time that you just want to go home and be with your family. But I had a dream. I want to finish my studies until I go to college so I can help my family and provide for them. I endured and here I am now. I finished my degree in Business Administration.

PCM helped me not only with finishing my studies and providing for my needs. PCM also introduced me to God, and I have a deep relationship with Him. I accepted Jesus Christ during my stay here in PCM with the help of God's Glory Church. Because of PCM, my life changed. It shaped my whole being specially my spiritual life. And I will forever be thankful to our Almighty God for using PCM as an instrument to help me.

A GoViral group was formed consisting of 7 older children of PCM. The group led by the Exec. Dir. is aimed to teach and train the children how to share the Gospel to their relatives and friends. One session was conducted to teach the children how to share the gospel using the tract "What is the BEST DECISION you've made in your life?".  Another two sessions were conducted so that everyone was able to practice sharing the gospel tract.

PCNC Evaluation

The Philippine Council for NGO Certification met with the Board of Trustees and Staff of PCM in December, 2017. We're trying to be certified again by BIR to be a donee institution so we can offer tax deductions to our beloved donors for their donations to PCM. It was a long day of review of our financial process and the shelter program operation to see where we still need to improve. Hopefully, we can be recommended for NGO Certification. Kindly pray with us...

Bonding time!

In November, PCM conducted a bonding time between children and parents/guardians. Nine parents came and joined various activities of the child in the center. We had morning devotion by Teacher Arlyn, and goals and games by Ate Juliet, our social worker. Their parents helped their children in cleaning their rooms, fixing their beds and personal belongings, and some cleaned the surrounding area. We prepared lunch for everyone, but their parents have also prepared and brought something to eat with their children. The parents served food to their children and ate with them, something they haven't done for a long time.

When their parents left, the children were really thankful to God because their parents visited them after 6 to 9 months of not seeing their parents. They added, "We are so happy that we saw our parents and, we really enjoyed their presence with us especially during meal time and the rest of the activities."
