PCNC Evaluation

The Philippine Council for NGO Certification met with the Board of Trustees and Staff of PCM in December, 2017. We're trying to be certified again by BIR to be a donee institution so we can offer tax deductions to our beloved donors for their donations to PCM. It was a long day of review of our financial process and the shelter program operation to see where we still need to improve. Hopefully, we can be recommended for NGO Certification. Kindly pray with us...

Bonding time!

In November, PCM conducted a bonding time between children and parents/guardians. Nine parents came and joined various activities of the child in the center. We had morning devotion by Teacher Arlyn, and goals and games by Ate Juliet, our social worker. Their parents helped their children in cleaning their rooms, fixing their beds and personal belongings, and some cleaned the surrounding area. We prepared lunch for everyone, but their parents have also prepared and brought something to eat with their children. The parents served food to their children and ate with them, something they haven't done for a long time.

When their parents left, the children were really thankful to God because their parents visited them after 6 to 9 months of not seeing their parents. They added, "We are so happy that we saw our parents and, we really enjoyed their presence with us especially during meal time and the rest of the activities."

Garden & Goats

PCM is maximizing the land that the good Lord has given us. Ricardo Peralta, a recent college graduate of PCM who finished BS Agriculture, has been helping us do it. We are now into raising goats and gardening. Grass around used to be a problem, but now 2 goats are feasting on them. in th garden, the children have planted tomatoes, eggplants, pepper, okra, and kangkong This is a two-pronged purpose, for Ricardo is also teaching the children how do it as part of their life lessons. Hopefully when they grow up, they will know some livelihood. Truly all things work together for many good! (Romans 8:28)

Awesome in this place!

Every month, we hold an event called FUSION, where pastors and leaders from various churches in Pandi and Bustos, Bulacan gather to be equipped in discipleship and be set on fire for winning souls. We held our 3rd Fusion in August, and about 360 disciples attended the event. God's Glory Church, the partner church of PCM, led the worship service. The song leader was our very own, Jomari Rabang. It was a Spirit-filled worship, everybody was into it singing and shouting praises to our God. Even after the opening prayer, the praises had not stopped, that a second opening prayer was needed. What a glorious night! The Holy Spirit really visited the place. This just proves to us that God can use even the ordinary people to do extraordinary tasks.

Rejocing with Cardo

Ricardo Peralta, or Kuya Cardo in the PCM Home, has walked to his graduation rites on June 26, 2017. He finished his B.S. in Agriculture from Bulacan Agricultural State College. The best part is that he was not just involved in his college studies, but very much immersed in his relationship with Jesus and in the vision of his home church – God’s Glory Church. He used his friendliness to win his friends to Jesus, led in group devotion in the home, and was a big blessing to Ate Helen for being obedient and helpful.

Right now, he is offered a job to practice his course in PCM. He is tasked to expand the vegetable garden and start to raise goats and tilapia in the Home's grounds. And he will do that with the children of PCM so they will learn farm skills. We’re looking forward for how God will continue to use Ricardo in greater ways. Being a responsible teen, we believe that will happen.

What's next in PCM

Good water!

The old water pipe line was already clogged. The water that came from the previous deep well was not good anymore - it had a bit of smell and a little muddy. Much thanks for a board member who shouldered the cost of building a new deep well, complete with automatic pressure pump and a new pipe line towards the dormitories. Now the children are enjoying clean and strong water from their faucets. God never fails to send his good Samaritans.

Usual place, different view

Sometimes, it takes a good eye to get the best of people. GJ Pacheco, a professional photographer, joined PCM children and staff in their outing on April 10, 2017 in Villa Concepcion. It's the usual hangout of the children during summer to temporarily escape the heat and have fun together. I love their confidence and joy in these shots. I believe God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

A kingdom partner for Jobelle

Joseph & Jobelle Saronicman
Jobelle Atienza, a quiet reponsible girl, stayed in PCM for 5 years until she finished a college degree. After graduation, she went back home to help her family, but still serves in God's Glory Church, the partner church of PCM. Right now, she works as a teacher/tutor in Onesimus, a non-government organization that takes care of street children.

Her stay in GGC is a journey of many blessings. For one, her church has helped her significantly in her spiritual maturity. To top her many blessings, Jobelle found her kingdom partner in GGC. Joseph Saronicman, an associate pastor of GGC, married Jobelle in March 11, 2017. Since Jobelle's father passed away already, Mr. Godofredo Dellota, former executive director of PCM, acted as the father who gave away the bride.

Lolo Fred, Jobelle, & Nanay Lani
During the wedding ceremony, Jobelle told the visitors that she's very thankful, because only a few women nowadays experience weddings. Perhaps that's what she saw from her friends and from her community. Well, she's a daughter of the King and she wants to show how a princess should walk. Truly those who walk in the center of God's will also walk in the center of God's blessings. God's grace truly abounds for those whose trust and obey Him.

Donee Institution!

At long last, Philippine Children's Mission is now a certified donee institution of Bureau of Internal Revenue. This means that PCM donors can now avail of tax deductions from their donations. This is one great way to bless back!

Feeling Rich!

Computers

Sporting Goods

New Grass Cutter
Great donations from our good donors. We can't name them to respect their privacy, but much appreciation flow deep inside our hearts. Same thing goes to numerous visitors of our children who, instead of celebrating with loved ones, have chosen to celebrate with our children. PCM may not have much, but we have God. And he promised he will meet all our needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) As this is true to us, we pray the same to our good-hearted donors.
